Where is Mediterranean Sea located?
The Mediterranean Sea is located in between three continents Asia, Europe and Africa. It is surrounded by the Mediterranean basin. It is totally enclosed by Anatolia and Europe on its North, by North Africa on its south and by the Levant on its East. It is bordered by Asia on the East, by Europe on the North and in South by Africa It is joined with Atlantic Ocean through the Strait of Gibraltar that is only 14 kilometers wide in the west.
Aegean Sea is an arm of the Mediterranean Sea lies between Greece and Turkey. Suez Canal connects it to the Red Sea. It is divided into two deep basins such as Western Basin and Eastern basin. Its major subdivisions are the Adriatic Sea, Aegean Sea, Balearic Sea, Tyrrhenian Sea, Ionian Sea and Ligurian Sea. Po, Ebro and the Nile are the largest rives flows in to it. Its average depth is 1,500 m (4,900 ft) and maximum depth is 5,267 m (17,280 ft). Its surface area is about 2,500,000 km2 (970,000 sq mi).
